While most kids were scribbling toy names on their birthday wishlists, I’d tell my mom things like, “Remember that pink skirt we saw three weeks ago? Third aisle, second rack—that’s what I want.” I’ve always been obsessed with fashion—I lived for it. And I still do.

When I was 10 and went to Disneyland, while the other kids were lining up for rides or picking out dolls, I chose a full-blown princess makeover and booked myself a photoshoot. I skipped swimming altogether because my hair would get spoilt—I spent an hour getting ready. My reason? “When I meet the other princesses, they should know I’m one too.” That’s how seriously I’ve always taken dressing up. It was never just for the pictures. It was for the feeling.
